The Sentinel: from winners to winners

Recently, Rony De Munter launched The Sentinel at Groomania 2020, Europe’s biggest educational and professional grooming event.

Who’s Rony?

Rony is well known in the world of dog grooming and especially when it comes to hand stripping. He is very passionate about dogs and a world-famous breeder, groomer and handler of Fox and Lakeland Terriers. After winning at prestigious dog shows like Westminster and Montgomery with dogs bred and co-owned, he won 3 times Best In Shows at The National Terrier show in the UK, twice at the European Dog Show and 2 times Best in the Terrier Group at the World Dog Show as well. Furthermore, he and his dog were also the winner in the Terrier group of Crufts, one of the biggest dog shows in the world! There is no doubt that this is one of the most desired and prestigious titles anyone can win with their dog. Aside from having success with his own breeding, he is an international grooming contest judge, speaker and demonstrator and has led seminars all around the world as well.

The Sentinel: a high-quality brand

It is safe to say that we at Transgroom are really pleased to announce that we are the exclusive distributor of The Sentinel. It is an indispensable brand for those who strive for perfection when grooming their dog’s coat. Thanks to the high quality, there is no hair breakage and what’s more important, you have the tool to be perfectly prepared. We are sure that you too are or will be a big fan of The Sentinel hand stripping knives and here’s why. If you have a dog with a hand-stripping or wiry coat such as most Spaniels, Setters, Schnauzers and most Terrier breeds, then hand stripping is the best way to groom. These coats have two types of hair: a soft and dense undercoat and a long and dense topcoat. By hand stripping, you remove the topcoat to reveal the dense, soft undercoat. This allows the new coat to grow and lets the skin breathe. The result: a natural, shiny and healthy coat.

Curious? Check out The Sentinel range here. Don’t know what hand stripping is? More about that in our upcoming post!
